When is Black Friday 2019?
Black Friday, a long-standing American tradition, is a famous shopping event following the Thanksgiving holiday. In recent years, the event has grown exponentially in both duration and location. Europe and Asia have both begun to host their own Black Friday events, modeled after the American version.
Black Friday used to fall on the Friday directly following Thanksgiving. Today, however, it has expanded to encompass an entire week, starting with Monday, November 25th, 2019, through Monday, December 2nd. This will cover the week-long sales event, through Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and ending with Cyber Monday.
While some companies, resellers, and retailers start offering huge discounts weeks before the event, the official observed sale timeline is Monday the 25th through December 2nd in 2019.

What are the Best Black Friday Deals This Year?
The best Black Friday deals are going to be found through the Google Store. You may get a small deal through Amazon, but it isn’t likely to be very much. Google doesn’t allow 3rd party coupons, so there won’t be a lot of price difference between retailers.
However, Google is pushing to sell the Nest 3rd Gen thermostat, and it is the only listing that will have a Black Friday special price, according to the Google Shop home page.
This doesn’t mean it is the best deal, though. Multi-packs will save you the most money, and when you can find a 3 or 4 pack during the sale, we suggest you jump on it.
Which Deal do we Recommend?
The best deal right now will be on the Nest 3rd Gen thermostat and the Nest Cam Outdoor. Both the deals, shipping, pricing, and any extra savings will come directly from Google.
Be on the lookout for packages that add the cameras or thermostats in as a bundle deal, though. While Google may not allow individual coupons, they can’t stop retailers from creating bundles at significant savings.
However, shopping through Amazon will get you Prime access and of course, 2-day shipping (same day in some cases).
Keep an eye on this page for more details and refresh often through the sale dates as we will update this page regularly.
Which Nest Product is Best?
If you don’t have your eye on a Nest product already, you are in for a surprise. There are several Nest Cam models to choose from, as well as a few selections for the Nest learning thermostats. Let’s quickly go over the models expected to sell the most during this shopping event and get you ready for your Black Friday 2019 purchase.
Nest Learning Thermostats
There are a few versions of the Nest thermostats. While you may be tempted to go with the latest and greatest, it might be worth your while to look for a sale on an older style that can offer substantial savings.
Nest 2nd Generation
The Nest 2nd Gen was the first major update over the original model. It comes with a bright view screen and wireless capabilities. It does not support the 5g band of WiFi, though, so you will need to use the 2.4G network for connection.
With the Nest 2nd Gen, you will have access to Airwave, the Nest Leaf, and energy reports. You can also use Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and other smart home devices (Apple HomeKit is not supported) for control.
Nest 3rd Generation
Following closely behind the 2nd Gen model, the 3rd Gen release saw some marked updates and improvements. The Nest 3rd Gen will connect to any 8.01/b/g/n network, including the 5G band. You get everything the 2nd Generation offered only now you have a better resolution on the screen, and a new feature called FarSight.
What’s more, the 3rd Gen thermostat comes with Bluetooth connectivity, a feature known as Furnace Heads Up, Sun Block, Time to Temp, and others. You can read our full comparison between the Nest 2nd and 3rd Generation models here, to get all the details.
Nest E
The Nest E was a slimmed-down version of the Nest 3rd Generation. It was designed to allow more people the ability to afford and install a smart thermostat in their homes. You can think of the Nest E like the original model with some upgrades. If you are looking for a basic smart thermostat that simply works, the Nest E can save you a lot of cash (both in the purchase price and on your energy bill).
The Nest E was released close to the 3rd Generation, and a lot of people became confused as to which version was the newer, better one. We have a full review of the two models, comparing features for you to read here.
In short, though, the Nest E offers you a model designed to blend into the wall, not stand out. A plastic bezel instead of metal and frosted glass with a low-resolution screen. It comes with wireless communications, the Nest app, and a 6-wire system that will connect to some, but not all, HVAC systems.
Nest Cam Security Cameras
With a host of security cameras, there are three that you will want to pay close attention to, depending on your needs. The Black Friday sales event should see some nice discounts on all three models.
Nest Cam Indoor
The indoor version is designed for home security while you are away or asleep. The Nest Cam Indoor records in full 1080p HD and is equipped with infrared LED night vision. You will need a smartphone and a mobile app for set up and operation.
Installation is simple and can be a half-hour DIY project for anyone that can use a screwdriver and cell phone. You will also be able to make use of the two-way communications as each camera has a built-in speaker and microphone.
With a full 130 degrees field of view, you can position multiple cameras for coverage inside without blind spots. Not only that, but you have the ability to live stream the cameras 24 hours a day.
Nest Cam Outdoor
The Nest Cam Outdoor is similar to the indoor camera, and the total installation time should be about an hour. The Nest Cam outdoor uses wireless communications, but there are no batteries. While you don’t have to worry about recharging batteries, you do need to find an external power supply or run the power line inside.
You will get free cloud storage (paid upgrades available) and can stream the video live, 24 hours a day. The camera records in full 1080p HD resolution and comes with infrared night vision for exterior low-light situations. You also get two-way communications and Voice controls through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Nest Cam IQ Outdoor
The Nest IQ uses a 4k sensor (records in 1080P HD) to bring you a crystal clear image no matter what device you view on. Unlike other cameras, you don’t need a hub to run the camera. All recordings are sent encrypted over your wireless connection and stored on the cloud.
After mounting, you won’t have any problems seeing what is going on. With an 8-megapixel resolution and 12x digital zoom, all movements and recordings are crystal clear. Two-way communications, person, zone, and motion alerts and smart home integration are all included.
The software in the IQ is better than most, and you can see how it compares to the other big names by reading our review here.
Now that you know what to buy let’s move on the Black Friday 2019 deals to find you the best price.
